DENTAL FACULTY

Established in 1921 the Department of Odontology and Stomatology of the Medical Faculty of the Kazan University marked the beginning of higher dental education in Kazan. In 1936 Kazan Dental Institute was established. In 1954 the Dental Faculty was created in Kazan Medical Institute. Duration of training is 5 years.

The first two years students of the Dental Faculty study natural sciences, social-humanitarian and medico-biological disciplines. Beginning from the third year students start studying the core subjects, and receive clinical training: students have the opportunity to participate in treating patients in dental clinics of the city together with experienced doctors.

Clinical training takes place on the basis of the Dental Clinic of KSMU, maxillo-facial departments of the Pediatric Republican Clinical Hospital and of the Emergency Medical Care Hospital, on the basis of 5 adults and 6 pediatric dental clinics of Kazan city.
