PEDIATRIC FACULTY
The Pediatric Faculty was established in December 1932. The Faculty trains students to work with children, thus during the study period at the Pediatric Faculty a very special attitude towards the future profession is formed as well as the utmost attentiveness, accuracy and communication skills.
During the 6 years of study, pediatric students learn the characteristics of development, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of various diseases in children. In addition to pediatric disciplines they also study natural sciences, social-humanitarian and medico-biological disciplines which serve as a basis in the formation of clinical (1st -2nd years), semiotics of internal diseases, general surgery, pathological anatomy and pathological physiology (3rd year), as well as the main clinical disciplines: surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, hygiene (4th -6th years).
The clinical bases of the faculty are the multidisciplinary Pediatric Republican Clinical Hospital, pediatric departments of 6 Kazan city hospitals, and 6 medical centers.
The graduates of the Pediatric Faculty can undergo training in internship or residency programs in all clinical specialities. Pediatric doctors with KSMU diplomas work in all regions of the country, more than a hundred of them became doctors and candidates of medical sciences, heads of department, chief specialists.
