PHARMACEUTICAL FACULTY

Founded in 1975 the Faculty trains specialists in the field of development, production and usage of drugs, who are capable of providing high quality and timely medication assistance to the population. Training is conducted on a full-time basis (period of study is 5 years) and on a part-time basis (5.5 years).

During the first five semesters, students gain comprehensive knowledge in the fields of modern chemistry, as well as in the medico-biological and socio-humanitarian disciplines. In the later years the students are trained to be future pharmacists.

Faculty graduates receive the qualification of a pharmacist and work in pharmacies, for pharmaceutical industries, as representatives of pharmaceutical companies, in State governing bodies which deal with pharmaceutical and medical services. The students of the faculty may find application of their knowledge and skills in specialized control-analytical and biochemical laboratories, in laboratories of quality control of drugs and of medicinal raw materials, in toxicological laboratories, in the Bureau of Forensic Medicine.

Another thing that is different about the faculty is that the students have an opportunity to take final state examinations in the form of preparing diploma projects. This form is only meant for the students with top grades. Those who successfully pass the course of studies the qualification "Pharmaceutist" is granted. The level of training allows students to work at the chemical analytical laboratories and forensic laboratories, as well as at the research institutes.
