LIST OF REQUIRED DOCUMENTS & THINGS TO BRING
Upon arrival at Kazan State Medical University, you will need the following documents:
- valid passport
- valid "educational" visa
- migration card
- medical certificate including AIDS test (if needed)
- confirmation of financial resources
- official academic records
- Enough money for tuition fees, accommodation and living expenses, enough Russian currency and travelers cheques to support you until you can open a bank account.
- All the information that the University has provided (Enrolment and Accomodation information, Welcome Guide for international students)
- If you are taking any prescribed drugs or have a health condition, bring a letter from your doctor
- Any original documents required for enrolment (i.e. original qualification certificates, letters of reference)
- Photocopy the personal details of your passport and visa stamp and keep them in a safe place
- 1. A dictionary. This can be useful, especially at the beginning of your studies.
- 2. Warm clothing. Bring al least one warm coat, jumper or cardigan and a jacket. Students from hot climates may find it difficult to find this clothing at home. That is why take some money to buy warm cloth in Russia.
- 3. Mementos and things from home that are special to you can help you adjust to your new home.
- 4. Favorite books or music.4
- 5. Lap-top computers and other valuables should be carried in your hand luggage and not checked in.
- 6. Your carry-on/hand luggage should include enough personal articles to last for your first night in Russia. This is just in case your luggage is delayed or lost.
- 7. Make sure your luggage is clearly labeled in English or in Russian.
All individuals who plan to stay in Kazan for three months or longer must undergo a medical examination (including an HIV Blood Test) and obtain a certificate indicating that their health permits them to stay in the Russian climate. If health reasons prevent an admitted candidate from studying in the Russian Federation, he/she will have to leave Russia. The health certificate must indicate that the applicant has no contraindications for study abroad. The health certificate must be issued by an official medical institution of the visitor's country of residence. English or Russian translation of the certificate is required.
The HIV test should be completed no earlier than a month before entering Russia.
In some cases, upon receiving an application and prior to processing an official invitation, the KSMU Admissions Dept. may ask for additional information on sources of funding that will be used to cover the applicant's tuition and living expenses in Russia. This may be a bank statement or any other document that would confirm the availability of funds (e.g. letter of guarantee from a sponsor, scholarship organization or any other institution that will provide funding).
Original copies of your educational documents and their Russian translations, notarized by the Russian Embassy or Consulate in the country of issue or by a Russian notary.
